March 17, 2025OSTP Paper/Pencil Test Material Shipment

We have been notified of an Apple iOS 17+ Autofill feature that lets users insert the device
Contacts and/or Passwords into any text field they encounter in the system. When long pressing
in a text box, a new "Insert" option appears in the pop-up menu. Tapping it brings up another
menu with two additional new options: "Contacts" and "Passwords." Choosing Contacts takes
you straight to your contacts list for you to make your selection, while tapping Password takes
you to your passwords.
- Autofill cannot be disabled on browser-based tests (i.e. an OSTP ELA Practice Test taken
through an internet browser).
- iPads and MacBooks without Force Touch trackpads: Autofill will be disabled for iPads and
MacBooks without Force Touch trackpads through the kiosk app. No further action needs to
be taken for Spring 2025 testing.
- MacBooks with Force Touch trackpads: Autofill will need to be disabled on all MacBooks
that have Force Touch trackpads for Spring 2025 testing. The trackpad will still function as
normal and will only disable the secondary “Force Click” press features.
Action:
- To disable “Force Click”, follow the path below:
- Click System Settings > Trackpad > Point & Click > Force Click and haptic
feedback (Turn off Toggle).
Please contact the Cognia Oklahoma Service Desk if you have further questions.
